The lasting effects of Hurricane Florence have forced many people out of their homes due to flooding. Right now, the Salvation Army of Horry County and partner agencies are responding to those in need, and you can help.
According to Major Angela Repass of the Salvation Army of Horry County and Waccamaw VOAD, (Volunteer Organization Active In Disaster), volunteers are currently packing boxes for flood victims that contain food, cleaning supplies, personal hygiene items, and baby items. They have also been working to deliver food to victims and first responders.
Major Angela Repass says, “We are currently getting our volunteers organized to pack boxes for this first phase. If people want to help long term, monetary donations will go towards replacing floors and damages to homes from the flooding. We also have groups cutting up trees, putting tarps on homes, and those that will cut the mold out of homes that have been affected by the flooding.”
