The Dragon Boat Festival goes virtual due to Covid-19

Each year, the Annual Ground Zero Dragon Boat Festival is held at Grand Park in the Market Common on the last Saturday in April.  This year marks the 12th year of the event and due to COVID-19, it will be very different.  Since this is Ground Zero Ministries’ largest annual fundraiser, they wanted a way for it to go on without the boat races and say that giving back is not cancelled.

This year, they’ll host a virtual fundraising race via Facebook, video chats, and email.  Ground Zero will lead Dragon Boat team members to raise funds for the ministry through August.  Prizes will be awarded.  Funds raised will support programs for local teenagers.  They’re also launching Your Year Scholarship! for the first time ever.  This scholarship will be awarded to a senior toward education or structured programs that are beneficial for his/her faith and future.
