The Bowery in Myrtle Beach has been around for 75 years

And it's the place where Alabama got their start. Come along with us to see what makes The Bowery so special.

Sounds of the ocean isn’t all you’ll hear from Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach.  The sound of a live band has filtered through the area for 75 years.  This year, The Bowery in Myrtle Beach celebrates their 75th Anniversary.

Owner Victor Shamah sat down with us and shared what keeps people coming back year after year.  He says they live by the motto Ya’ can’t beat fun! and if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.  A lot remains the same and that’s part of its charm.  Guests love coming back and experiencing the nostalgia of it all.  Super group Alabama also got their start here and the live music venue lives on.  Shamah says Alabama would practice songs during their time as the house band from 1973-1980.  They would see what the crowd responded to.  When they hit the scene, they produced hit after hit.  Today, they still stop in from time to time.

You can still get that same pint of beer and Shamah says they try to keep the prices affordable.  Come along with us as we look back in honor of 75 years in Myrtle Beach.
