The Stingray Experience: You can actually swim in a fish tank at Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach

If you're an animal lover, the stingray experience in Myrtle Beach is a must try!

Yep, you read that right.  You can actually swim in a fish tank at Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  The Stingray Experience belongs on your bucket list.  We were so excited to catch up with our friends at Ripley’s and see what it’s all about.  All we needed was our bathing suit and towel, and we were ready to go!

Each Stingray Experience includes a 15 minute behind the scenes tour.  This is something regular admission won’t give you access to.  You’ll get to see where the food for the animals is prepared.  Plus, you’ll get an up-close look at the huge water pumps that keep everything going.  The Stingray Experience itself means you’ll actually get into the water with the stingrays.  They love stingray hugs and kisses!  Legend says if you give a stingray a kiss, you’ll have 7 years of good luck.  We stole as many as we could.

After the stingrays have been fed by your tour guide and you’ve gotten all the cuddles you can handle, you’ll actually get to snorkel and swim in the larger fish tank.  This gives you an opportunity to see the stingrays that like to hang at the bottom of the tank.  You’ll even swim with some sharks!  But don’t worry, they’re completely harmless and really sweet.  Another great perk?  You won’t have to worry about capturing the moment.  Your tour guide will take pictures the entire time and your USB is included in the package, so you can treasure the memory forever.  You’ll even get a cool stingray shirt and bag to take home.
