Scarlett’s Antiques in Darlington is truly a hidden gem

People come from all over the country to find treasures at Scarlett's Antiques in Darlington, South Carolina.

It’s no wonder people travel from all over to see what treasures they’ll find at Scarlett’s Antiques in Darlington, South Carolina.  You can find everything from antiques to used furniture, mirrors, handmade rugs, and everything in between.  It truly is a hidden gem.

Family owned and operated, Scarlett’s Antiques opened in the 1960’s as an upholstery business.  Before they knew it, customers were leaving furniture behind.  Eventually, they began to sell left over items on the front lawn.  Over time, the business morphed into what it is today.  We loved sitting down with owner and operator, Mary Scarlett to learn all about the history and what you might find.  She shares that the Scarlett family was originally from High Point, North Carolina, also known as the furniture capital.  Her entire family worked in the furniture business, so they know what to look for.

Today, her son follows in her late husband’s footsteps and travels the Southeast, buying quality furniture, and more to bring to the shop.  It’s hard to believe the 20,000 square foot building is packed full.  You never know what you might find at Scarlett’s and inventory is ever changing.  Scarlett says people are often overwhelmed upon their first visit and end up having to come back more than once just to take it all in.  We don’t mind if we do!
