Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach takes hands on learning to another level

There are so many aquatic animals you can actually touch at Ripley's Aquarium in Myrtle Beach. Check out their interactive exhibits!

There’s always something new to see or do at Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach.  They have so many interactive exhibits and aquatic animals that you can actually touch!  We caught up with Stacia White, assistant curator of husbandry, on what to expect.  White says you learn so much by actually getting to touch the animals and immersing yourself in all the aquarium has to offer.  Where else can you go and actually touch a jelly fish or swim with a stingray?  You won’t believe how she describes some of the animals to feel.

One of the newest additions?  Cleaner shrimp.  The name describes them perfectly.  You can actually stick your hands in the tank so the shrimp can clean them.  It’s kind of like an all natural manicure.  While you’re getting the ultimate treatment (that kind of tickles), you’ll learn all about what these shrimp do in the wild.

Ripley’s Aquarium is conveniently located at Broadway at the Beach.  You’ll always find something new to explore and learn about.  Dive in with us and see what it’s all about!
