We got a closer look at an HGTC Alumni’s business. Shannon owns and operates her won food truck in the Myrtle Beach area. The EZ Cheesy Truck specializes in premium grilled cheese sandwiches.

 

Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) will host an open house at the International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach (ICI) on Tuesday, October 15, from 5:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Future culinary students are invited to tour the state-of-the-art facility and meet with world-class chef instructors.

 

Aspiring culinary students are invited to learn more about the ICI’s hands-on, technical approach to education and discuss career goals. They’ll also have the opportunity to tour the facility’s modern teaching kitchens and watch brief cooking demonstrations. Admissions and financial aid representatives will also be available to assist in the application process. There will also be a chance to register to win a $1,000 scholarship and have application fees waived for attendance.

 

“The open house will be a great opportunity for individuals interested in a culinary career to see first-hand the resources and technology available at the International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach,” said Executive Director Joseph Bonaparte. “Our chef instructors will be available to answer questions about our various degree and certificate programs.”

 

The International Culinary Institute located at 920 Crabtree Lane in Myrtle Beach offers associate degrees in culinary arts technology and baking and pastry arts, as well as certificates in kitchen and food preparation techniques, and professional cooking.
