Generator Safety Tips

Don't forget these generator safety tips!

With Hurricane Dorian quickly approaching, many are getting their hurricane preparations in order.  Having a generator on hand can be useful in the event of power outages.  We caught up with a Lowe’s Home Improvement representative on generator safety.

Watch and take note of these tips to be sure you’re using yours properly.

  • Make sure your generator is at least 20 feet from your house
  • Don’t attempt to backfeed your house
  • Don’t run your generator in the rain (keep them shielded, yet well ventilated)
  • Stock up on extra gasoline and store it properly
