The Boathouse in Myrtle Beach is now dog friendly and they're taking it to another level.
The Boathouse in Myrtle Beach is a favorite spot located right on the waterway. They are offering so many new things this year including a brewery, called Independent Republic Brewery, a new look, and now you can bring your dogs to hang out, anytime except Sunday. They’re also offering something special for dogs, dog beer. Yep, you read that right.
I mean, they don’t call them man’s best friend for nothing. What could be better than sharing a brew with Fido? This place takes Happy Hour to a whole new level and even hosts “Yappy Hour” every Wednesday with treats for your dogs and a special hostess named Nellie.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Nellie, she is the Boathouse “spokesdog” and loves making new friends. Also, this miniature dachshund might be the cutest thing you’ve ever seen. If you’ve ever been to the Boathouse, known for the best backyard on the Grand Strand, you know that there’s plenty of room for the pups to roam. This year, they’ve transformed what used to be their volleyball court into a beer garden. It’s equipped with picnic tables that offer leash hook ups for your dog. Their new brewery even features two beers named after dogs. One is the Nellie Light and another is a Cherry Stout named after Buster who has called the Boathouse home for 13 years. Owner Misty Coan said it only made sense to offer an actual beer for the dogs, too! *wags tail* Come along with us to check it out and learn what it’s all about.
